one week later

Sorry folks I've been on sick leave. I had the flu thanks to my youngest and now the other one has it too. I am still recovering but I feel a lot better. Not much has happened in the past week, other than I won some nail polish from girlslife.com which was cool, so I painted my toenails. Last night my eldest daughter broke my digital camera, the youngest dropped a casserole dish full of broccoli casserole in the kitchen floor and it shattered in a million pieces (it was my sisters dish) and we found a dead spider in the living room that must have been on steroids or something. I will get Lauren to take a pic of it with her camera since mine is kaput, and post it tomorrow next to a ruler or something so you can get an idea of its size. I did watch a few movies lately, Grandma's Boy which never fails to amuse me as I dated a video geek and a pothead and plus its just plain hilarious; School for Scoundrels- was not funny to me....and wtf has Billy Bob done to his face??

I was hoping for more since it was by the same people who did Bad Santa and it also had Jon Heder. But no, it fell flat and was way too similar to Anger Management (the Adam Sandler/Jack Nicholson flick). Also watched The Last Kiss which stars the talented Zach Braff and the cute as a button Jacinda Barrett (who was also in School for Scoundrels unfortunately).

Basically he has it made and he fucks it up. Typical male. Now I think Scrubs is hilarious, I loved Garden State and this movie was pretty good too, but I just don't buy all these gorgeous girls falling for Zach. That nose, those lips??? His lips really bother me.

I don't find guys with big pointy upper lips attractive. Matt Damon is another one. UGH.

The worst of all is Gary Shandling. GROSS! He should have lip liposuction!

I do have one exception to the big lip rule and that is Ryan Phillipe. His lips are extemely ok with me.

If you can dream it, you can do it

Me and Lauren went to see this movie Sat. night. I love Will Ferrell and I loved Jon Heder in Napoleon Dynamite, so I pretty much knew I would love this movie. Will Ferrell is like Jim Morrison on ice: drunk, sex-crazed and leather encased; Jon Heder is pretty much a sissified Napoleon Dynamite with an 80's wardrobe that consists mostly of aqua and a Farrah Fawcett hairdo. Together they are funny as hell. We laughed our asses off. Dawn, smoke one before you go it will be even funnier.
I also saw The Illusionist on DVD recently and this is an excellent movie. It started off rather slowly and I was getting rather bored at one point, but then it surprised me and continued to surprise me until the ending, which amazed me. Yes there were clues and some people say that this movie is predictable. I disagree. See for yourselves.
