All the days run together
in a blur of color
into the vastness of eons

I was but a moment

rain drizzling down windows
lights mirrored in puddles on city streets
images still and clear

suddenly disturbed
your fleeting foot splashing through
breaking the colors apart

Bathed in sunlight
glistening copper strands
your fingers running through

Droplets fall again
calm pools catch a reflection
walking away

footsteps resonate
my heart beats

	Archer	I'm glad you opened it back up for commentary ... I think in staying true to your own advice (to quote you from another of your most recent blogs) - write what's bothering you so you can get a good night's sleep. I fall victim to that same thief I'm afraid... *sigh* ... and am thankful for your advice. Anyway... this opens with a look at something insurmountable - (who would dare take on the vastness of the eons?) and challenges one's significance... wonderful word selections that spill well into each other... the whole idea of liquidity, fluidity and the intruder disrupting the pallet (or running fingers through your hair *smile*) all make for anticipation - only to have hopes dashed with departure ... 	Belladonna	This may very well be your best poem yet! You did an amazing job of allowing the metaphor to say it all for you--and so subtly. The images and contrasts are lovely, as seen in the very first heartbreaking response: "I was but a moment" *sigh* And the ending is perfect. Although it's sad, it's also hopeful. 	NE@LE	it was worth waiting for, a superb collection of evocative images. each different, but each welding in to each other to make a tapestry of emotion.
